2 in one day ... how big is the chance?

Two Iranian airliners made emergency landing in Ataturk airport in Istanbul, Turkey Thursday morning.

"One of the two airliners which is an Airbus A300 was carrying 209 passengers and 18 crew members and was heading from Tehran to Dusseldorf. It contacted Istanbul's airport after entering Turkey's air space and asked for an emergency landing," IRI's consul in Istanbul Mahmoud Heidari said.

"It managed to make emergency landing at 10:02 local time while its left engine was on fire," he added.

"The other airliner was heading from Tehran to Stockholm and made emergency landing at 11:30 local time due to technical fault," Heidari said.

IRI's consul in Istanbul assured that all passengers and crew members were in good health and the airliners would continue their way after final control.
