A PENSIONER was severely burned when acid was thrown in his face while sitting in his parked car.
The 66-year-old was approached by a man who, after a short verbal exchange, threw the substance at the driver burning his chest and face.
The incident happened at 9.45pm on Saturday, on Thwaites Brow Road, Keighley, near to the junction on Parkwood Street.
The man, who has not been named by West Yorkshire Police, then went to a nearby house to attempt to remove the substance before being taken to Airedale General Hospital.
He was later transferred to Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, where his condition yesterday was described by police as "stable".
The attacker is described as a white man in his early to mid-twenties, of medium build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a white jumper with a two-inch band across the chest.
Officers are keen to talk to the occupant of a dark coloured vehicle similar to a Suzuki Vitara, which was seen driving along the road near to the time of the attack.
It is also believed a dark coloured Peugeot or Citroen saloon type car was in the area at the time and police are urging the driver to contact them.
Police said the motive for the attack was unclear.
Det Insp Shaun Berry, based at Keighley, said: "We know it was a highly corrosive substance which immediately started to burn his skin – had it not been for the victim washing it off so quickly the burns would have been far worse."
Stockists of highly corrosive materials are also being asked to contact police if they have any information which could help police.
Witnesses can contact police on 01535 617059.

the only similarity i see between this article and the picture is that acid was trown on someone....but your article really has nothing to do with these pictures....IED_RIP wrote:A PENSIONER was severely burned when acid was thrown in his face while sitting in his parked car.
