American killed in Olympics attack

BEIJING, China (CNN) -- An American man was killed and American woman attending the Olympics was wounded in downtown Beijing Saturday by a Chinese man who then killed himself, according to China's official news agency, Xinhua.
A Chinese tour guide, a woman, was also wounded in the attack, which happened around noon at the Drum Tower, a popular tourist site, Xinhua reported.
The attacker, identified as a 47-year-old man from the eastern Chinese city Hangzhou, jumped to his death from the second level of the Drum Tower, a spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Government Information Office told Xinhua.
The official said both U.S. citizens had entered China with tourist visas. The report did not say how they were attacked.

the moderator should close this thread as it has nothing to do with terrorism...any american tourist killed by some mad guy has nothing to do with terrorism..if he had been from some non western country would this even qualify as a news??

From what I have read there is really no evidence to support your belligerent claim.
Perhaps he was targeted as an American, or perhaps it was just a coincidence that those killed happened to be American; wrong time, wrong place.
The Chinese tour guide was also attacked and injured.

Only speculation. This that cannot be deduced from the article. You are projecting a stereotype on American citizens.
Re-read for the third time, i know its hard. Cleary it was an opinion, a statement, a comment and it was most definitely not a question to be replied to. Whats not stereo-typical on Terrorist Media.
