these are the people the u.s and uk should be helping! Instead of spending billions on Iraq which never attacked the us. I am sure the billions they spend their each month would be highly apprieated to these people.

for once i agree with what is being said, those poor countrys that are the worst of are also involved in continuous wars, and all the finances that should be getting spent on food and improvement of life and living standards, is unfortunatly instead being spent on weapons ammunition and continuous death, * whats the solution, is there one *
and i would like to add that the western nations do send billiions of $ollars/£ounds to those 3rd world countrys and also arrange worldwide concerts to help raise money to help them *QUESTION * how much do the Arab/Muslim/Islamic nations contribute, answer absolutly NOTHING >> says everything doesnt it

poverty is a fact of life. I feel bad for the people in desolate conditions, it pains me to see chindren die'n of starvation when we in north america live a life of excess. Sure the US is spending billions in military funding...that being said, the US by no means HAS to throw money around to feed people. That's not their responsibility. They do so because contrary to what you people believe...the US attempts to feed those in need...but only after they take care of their own needs (IE military funding, taking care of US citizens in need, social security ect ect).
My country has no need for military funding and we help those in need....yet....we get no recognition.
Speaking of which....maybe you've been under a rock but today was live 8
to gather money to help those children you criticize the states and the U.K for not helping.

thankyou natX for putting the link on for live8live on the forum, we of the western world are always being pilloried for being capatilists, but as you say we are always the first ones to put our hands in our pockets and help in dire situations,, the same as after the Tsunami, it seems the rest of the world forgets this, when it suits them I am so glad that the west has taken some of the debt burden of the african countrys, all except France of course, maybe the rest of the world should be made to understand that it is mostly France that is to blame for banning exports from those poorer countrys into the European Market, and i am glad that at long last Britain has decided to stand up to Frances self concerned selfish interests, I personaly have no love for France as i experianced their wicked and devious practices during the Falklands war.

Last time iremember bush said he would give 600 mil not the 25 billion blair wanted. If them giveign aid is proof their good so is Saddam for letting Palastinian refugee's live in iraq
