French military helicopter crashes in Gabon

A military helicopter carrying 10 French soldiers crashed in the sea off the west African nation of Gabon during a bilateral exercise, the French presidency says.
"The President of the Republic (Nicolas Sarkozy) has just been informed about the crash of a French helicopter with 10 military personnel aboard in the sea off Gabon as it participated in a bilateral exercise," it said in a statement.
"The head of state has asked that all available means in the area be immediately deployed to find the soldiers who were aboard," it said.
