Aid can be sent in the form of materials such as food & water.

rat_clock, of course we should help!!!!! That is ridiculous to say that we should refuse to help thousands upon thousands of innocents just there might be some idiots running around. We have a PLENTY of idiots in the USA, but we still help people when there is a catastrophy!!!!!

Are you inferring that US only helps their allies?? Is Iran an ally of the United states? Fact of the matter is when the US is in a position to help anyone in a disaster they do. Wether or not you think it's purely symbolic makes no difference at all. When people are desperate for help the US always seems to step up when countless others look the other way.
