Saddam trial told of Iraq torture ---muslim leader

Post by rat_clock »

Watch the evidence
A woman witness appearing at the trial of ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has given accounts of torture at the hands of security forces.
She testified behind a screen and with her voice disguised to protect her identity, and said she was 16 when she was detained in the 1980s.

"My youth was destroyed," she told the special Iraqi court in Baghdad.

Saddam Hussein and seven former aides deny murder charges over the 1982 killing of 148 Shia Muslims in Dujail.

They could face the death penalty if convicted.

The killings in Dujail, north of Baghdad, followed an attempt on Saddam Hussein's life.

During her testimony, the woman, known as Witness A, said she had been forced to take off her clothes by a security agent after being detained in Dujail.

"He raised my legs up and tied up my hands. He continued administering electric shocks and beating me," she told the special Iraqi court, sobbing.

Afterwards, she said, she was held in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison for four years.

Many of her relatives were also detained, the witness added.

Retaliation fears

Questioned by the judge, the woman could not pin any specific blame against any of the defendants.

She just said that Saddam Hussein was responsible for her treatment because he was running the country.

That is a very sad story, an there are thousands more just like them. Seems it doesn't count to some people that mass graves have been uncovered, that torture chambers have been exposed, or that Saddam's victims can speak freely for the first time in 30 years.

Take care...

fuck saddam...he can rot in hell

anyone who actually supports him....or thinks they do needs to fucking wake up and realize what his gig was. If your fuck'n sister was raped by one of his asshole sons and you were persecuted if not killed by him or his goons you'd think different. PPL that sit around here say'n that he was a good guy can only fuck'n do it because you live in a free society and never lived under "his rule". Bloody if you actually fuck'n think he was a "good guy" then it's too fuck'n bad you did'nt get a chance to feel his wrath.

Christ...I just read a book about him written by one of his insiders.....he took a god damn 7 year old british kid as a hostage during the 1st gulf war...wow what a hero.
